Eron Bloomgarden is the managing Partner of Climate and Forest Capital. In addition to this, Eron leads the green infrastructure and carbon teams at Encourage Capital and is the Portfolio Manager of EKO’s Green Carbon Fund. He also serves on the Investment Committee of the fund. Eron is an expert in environmental finance, green infrastructure and impact investing. Eron is a frequent speaker and a published author who has advised governments and corporations on many aspects of environmental finance. He is also an adjunct professor at the Earth Institute at Columbia University. Prior to Encourage, Eron was President of Environmental Markets at Equator LLC, and previously U.S. Country Director for EcoSecurities, the world’s largest carbon credit company. He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s GAC on Biodiversity and Natural Capital and served on the Board of the Environmental Markets Association. Eron earned an M.P.A. from Columbia University and completed the PLD at Harvard Business School.
Trip O’Shea is a Principal with Climate and Forest Capital. In addition to forestry and climate solutions, Trip is focused on sustainable fisheries finance and other environmental investment opportunities. Prior to joining EKO Asset Management in 2013, Trip was an investment banker in the Global Power & Utilities group at Barclays Capital in New York City, where he worked on financings and M&A, primarily in the renewable energy space. Earlier in his career, Trip spent over 5 years living and working in Central America, where he founded his own social enterprise consulting practice, and worked as a conservation finance analyst with The Nature Conservancy. He holds both an MBA and a MS in Sustainable Resource Systems through the Erb Institute at the University of Michigan, and received a BA in Economics and Environmental Science from Bates College in Maine. Trip grew up in Northern New England, and has since lived in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Brazil. In his spare time, he enjoys surfing, hiking, big mountain free-skiing, and sailing.
Roger Stone is an Analyst at Climate and Forest Capital. He manages the day-to-day operations of the firm and is focused on the development of the RAF investment strategy. Prior to joining Encourage Capital and Climate and Forest Capital, Roger received a BA in Sustainable Development at Columbia University's Earth Institute. Roger has also previously worked as an energy efficiency consultant to the United States Army Corps as a part of a sustainability partnership with Columbia University.
